Last day of August, 2018..........

Y’all get ready for this Ol Hillbilly’s favorite time of the year!! Fall is in the air and I can’t wait September 1st VLOG on its way!! Praise GOD for all things!!

Let’s begin again!!

I am a sinner saved by grace. I have lived a life of great blessings and great challenges. I am in no way perfect. I am a work in progress, being molded by the masters hand! I have witnessed the power of the one true GOD through JESUS CHRIST my LORD and SAVIOR many times, but, none can compare to what I am seeing GOD doing with my family and my mother!!

 All of Mary Hays and Jack Hays children were in attendance at their house today for the first time in years and what an amazing day we had, there was a sweet spirit in that house today that hadn’t been their for a while we ate and laughed and talked old tales and made new plans, and, and, in the midst of this miracle my mother who had been on deaths door these past few days literally, literally, not having eaten a bite since the doctors sent her home under the direction of Hospice, was by 3:00 p.m. sitting up in bed laughing and talking like it was 20 years ago! She ate chicken and drank her customary sprite with an ENSURE in that line up somewhere, but wait it’s not over yet, we all gathered around mom and we began talking with her about what she wanted her next step to be and after a long beautiful conversation about the reality of her imminent death she says she has stuff she wants to do and fight for!!! 

So, wait, hold on, it’s gets even better!! My sister Erin Hays McKeown who is along with my mother the greatest nurse to walk the planet says ok then that settles it we are calling for the ambulance to take you to TMH and get your strength up and then I will have it ready for you to be transferred to the rehab in Sarasota so I can be there to help you get over the humps and dad can stay with us too while your there. Then you guys can just stay down there if you want permanent. But wait it gets better!! After many personal battles my other sister Sarah Hays is going to relocate down there with her son also and be rid of the demonic idiots that have caused her so much grief!! 

So as of 6:00 p.m. this evening my mother is on the road to recovery at TALLAHASSEE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL and our family has started a reconciliation of biblical proportions!! Now you can say it with me: GLORY TO GOD FOR HIS MERCY AND HIS GRACE AND HIS MASTERFUL HAND making whole so much that had been broken for so long!! 

I am now to the portion of this status update that I need if you have gotten nothing else from this I need you to get: GOD is in control whether you believe that or not he is in control, if you don’t know JESUS CHRIST as your LORD and personal SAVIOR you have no idea what GOD can do for you and your life!! I beg even if there is one out there please head these words and come to JESUS!! I would love to talk with you personally if you would let me, we can go to GODS word and I can walk the ROMAN  road with you and show you each step to being saved but not just for the miracles that you can see worked in your life, but for your eternal home in heaven with our LORD!! I LOVE y’all so much it has been a day of unforgettable renewal for this Ol Hillbilly and I praise GOD for all things!! Help me give him glory for these miracles!! 

Below are the fantastic five of this branch of the Hays tree: Nathan Hays, Sarah Hays, Ol Hillbilly, Erin Hays Mccowen( Erin it wouldn’t tag you and I know I spelled your last name wrong tell Joel I’m sorry), and Ol Ed or lil Jack Hays!! This is a mighty pretty bunch of folks whom I am so proud to call my brothers and sisters!!

And then.........

I have for quite some time been under the misconception that I had it all figured out!! Well LOL, and even LMBO, I hadn’t even been close. GOD is the captain of our ship and if he isn’t given full control we are destined to run aground or hit an iceberg. 

I have come to the place that if I don’t relinquish control to him I know beyond a shadow of a doubt the SS HILLBILLY is gonna sink soon!! I thank GOD for his grace and mercy to allow me to see this before catastrophic things take place. Praise GOD for all things including my life which he bought with the price of his son JESUS. 

I am giving a call out to all those reading this who are in the same place I am.......and are ready for a lifelong captain change before it’s too late. Ask forgiveness, Believe he is king, and live for him and allow him full control!

Loose lips sink ships....

I praise GOD for this opportunity to visit with you here on the porch. I been thinking how as time goes on and people and places in our lives change we have so many different ways we all deal with our daily races. There are those who go through our routines basically do anything and everything we are asked or told to do blindly and telling all of our intentions and plans and goals to the world in general. I have started rethinking this approach. I have come to the decision that we don’t need to openly tell all to all. The world has an uncanny way of slowing or stopping anything that they become envious of or they want to do harm to. Work hard to achieve all that GOD is leading you to do but be very selective of whom you tell your plans to everyone who inquires is not on your team they may be looking to bring glory to the enemy and we want no part of that.

Time keeps on slipping.....

I was sitting on my porch the other day pondering how I have suddenly came to the place of 45 years old? I swear I was just 16 learning to drive and starting my first cooking job and then: “BOOM!!!” here I am married to the greatest woman in the world, father of two of the greatest blessings GOD has ever given, sitting on my porch thinking long really philosophical thoughts of old dogs and new tricks!!

I had a good long discussion with the LORD there on my porch and whether I have 5 seconds, 5 minutes, or 5 decades, I am no longer taking time for granted!! I am going to be grateful for every opportunity to love, laugh, learn, and live every second I am blessed with!!

Lessons learned

I am here to thank GOD for all the wonderful blessings and challenges in the form of many lessons learned. I have a tendency to take on way to much during my daily going so I do from time to time have to chastised by my Heavenly Father and slow down, I at one time in my life could work 3 jobs spend quality time with my family and get rest in between. Now that I am blessed with a few more years and a few more medical challenges I have to slow down and prioritize the necessary things for that time and that day. I have learned to work smarter, not harder. One good lesson learned!

It begins with you.....

Today I am starting over!! Today GOD is my focus!!! I will firmly take hold of all that I think , say, and do. I love this series “The Secret” I am adding it to my daily studies.

How much does “Hello” really cost?

As I go about my daily routine and tend to whatever the business of the day is I like to “People “ watch as interactions take place. Generally it is not too awful long that something catches my eye, whether odd or normal I usually will come up on subjects of manners or respect or general demeanor. 

Today was no exception: As I  sat in one of my favorite restaurants in the entire world with that beautiful woman who has put up with me all these years I began to notice just how absolutely sickening some people can be with regards to others. I know that’s a very general statement so let me explain: I have for a good many years worked in and around food service and the hospitality industry (25+ years) to be exact and in that time have held every position from Owner to busboy. I can beyond any shadow of doubt say that no matter the position I never, ever treated anyone who came in to my establishment, whether they were a five star restaurant or a hole in the wall dive, any different than I would want to be treated if the roles were reversed!! 

So, as you can guess as I watched these folks, who as a matter of record are masters of customer service and absolute artists in the kitchen trying to very genuinely make some of the most disrespectful, unkind, ugly folks happy it hurt me so bad that I decided to write about in my blog (which I have been neglecting) and see just how many people agree or disagree: When you are out in places of business, whether they are restaurants or stores do you uphold yourself in a way that if your attitude and demeanor was given back that you would like it? When you are out and you see folks do you toss out the first “hello” or does it cost too much for you to be friendly? Do you turn a sour face if the person or persons you see don’t fit a particular social status or class? Or, do you no matter suit or overalls, denim or silk, long hair or clean cut, red, yellow, black, or white, do you initiate communication or draw your turtleneck in and say nothing?

What does it cost to say “hello “? Nothing!! But we are becoming more and more stingy with good Ol fashioned manners and respect and hospitable attitudes!! I challenge each and every reader today to start a new chapter in their lives and work on being courteous more and more friendly to others, speak to someone you come in contact with, tell them hello and wish them well if nothing else this may just be what someone out there needs to hear!! I love y’all!! Have a great rest of your day!!! Keep positive interactions paying forward, we just might start a full blown happy revolution!!

The Anti Lemon Oreo Association

Well I have decided that in order to not feel like Im getting older and to become a part of this "hip" new boycotting trend I am going to be passionate about something and boycott it let's see. .....hmmmm...wait wait, I got it Today I am forming the Anti- Lemon Oreo association, those things are nasty and I bet they are dangerous too! You freeze some of them bad boys and you could put someones eye out!! The Govt should stop all production of lemon Oreos and order a voluntary pick up of them cause its not the person throwing thems fault its the Oreo! Wait I just had a fatboy epiphany: we cant let them take up the lemon oreos cause this fatboy likes the other oreos!! What are gonna do????? Well I guess I just wont buy any lemon oreos and maybe the police and govt should hold accountable the people that throw them at others to hurt them.......Sounds stupid when I use Oreos as the example doesnt it!?! All you anti gun folks out there better stop for a second and think about what will happen to you when all the legal folks have to give up their guns!! Myself I will be a fat Oreo eatin outlaw I guess!!

Been outside enjoying some beautiful weather today and the LORD began workin on my spirit about how many types of love we as CHRISTIANS should be showing. The first ultimately is that CHRISTLIKE love that we should be showing to a world to a world that is lost without our savior JESUS. The second I have come to terms with is that unconditional love that we need to be showing others. A love that says are you hungry? Here is something to eat, Are you cold here is a coat or a blanket, and doing all these things without any thought of repayment doing them because we love and are willing to extend that love to a needy world. My next post will continue on with the subject of love and in between take a minute to stop and thank GOD  for his love and mercy in your life. LOVE YALL!!
