Love.....

Been outside enjoying some beautiful weather today and the LORD began workin on my spirit about how many types of love we as CHRISTIANS should be showing. The first ultimately is that CHRISTLIKE love that we should be showing to a world to a world that is lost without our savior JESUS. The second I have come to terms with is that unconditional love that we need to be showing others. A love that says are you hungry? Here is something to eat, Are you cold here is a coat or a blanket, and doing all these things without any thought of repayment doing them because we love and are willing to extend that love to a needy world. My next post will continue on with the subject of love and in between take a minute to stop and thank GOD  for his love and mercy in your life. LOVE YALL!!

NEW YEARS GOALS

New Year, New mind!!

As 2017 comes to a close I am so thankful to GOD for a blessed year and praise him for his son JESUS without whom we would be eternally lost!! I could try to be like some and make "resolutions", instead I want to try a new approach: For every blog i publish I want to set up achievable goals for the next blog and as the blogs tie together we can summarize things together to see if our actions toward achieving these goals was effective or if we need a new approach.

So for my next blog I want to create a list of 10 blessings I am grateful for during 2017. I will list each and give reasons that I am thankful. So for this blog I pray each of you have a GODLY, positive, productive, happy day full of love, peace and joy. Love yall, see yall next time On the porch with me "Ol Hillbilly".

CHOICES....

I have recently did quite a bit of ponderin on a subject that seems to be a difficult task for a lot of folks, that is CHOICES. We as a society find ourselves allowing our lives to be lived on a system of choice that has no consequences.

I listen to the news on the radio as I drive and hear about a world that has allowed itself to go about a daily existence that encompasses only the choice that serves us now!! We want to use drugs to get high and feel a false sense of good, we want to drink to get drunk to feel a false sense of good, we want to have sexual relations only on the basis of acceptance and to feel a false sense of good.

We have lost sight of GODLY, moral, choices in which we prayerfully consider our situation and the event and if GOD will be glorified or if it will be of some sinful consequences.

I submit the word of GOD as it states very plainly many times that we need to pray in all things, without ceasing and give GOD total control of the situations we pray about so that  he will be glorified and we will keep away from any consequences of sinful choices.

My life began in Angel Holler

I have been thinking a lot about my life and where I started. It is a fact I am a true "Hillbilly". Angel Holler in southern Ohio in a small area called Franklin Furnace is where I am so proud to tell you my life began in a 12×48 mobile home beside a beautiful little creek, and directly in front of a gorgeous tree covered hill that was once travelled by many a native american and Appalachian hillbilly. To some it may have appeared to be a meager existence but to me I thought it was heaven!!

We had a pot-bellied stove that we used to heat with in the winter and it was great for them cold Ohio winter nights.

Grandpa and Grandma Hacker lived just across the tobacco field from us so I could go to see them whenever I wanted. I remember so many great lunches and suppers at their house. They also had a basement so whenever bad weather blowed in Grandma would call and tell us to get to their house so we could all go to the basement to be safe in case a tornado came. Their basement was awesome it had couches and chairs and a T.V. so it was not a bad thing if we had to go to Grandmas house anytime.

One thing about growing up Appalachian was when the church doors were open we were there. Sunday morning service, sunday night service, and wednesday night bible study. Pine Creek Freewill Baptist was a wonderful place of worship. Every year we performed the Nativity story for Christmas and I always remember Brother Mootz narrating it and thinking it was perfect like something on T.V.

My foundation was laid rock solid there in Angel Holler and I am so grateful for such a GODLY beginning.  I will pick up here on the next blog. GOD bless you all, love ya!!
